Callaghan Innovation in association with BECA are bringing their Industry 4.0 Mobile Showcase to the West Coast in October. This is part of the Industry 4.0 Demonstration Network, a government initiative to boost awareness and uptake of the game-changing industry 4.0 technologies in the New Zealand manufacturing sector and its future workforce.
The mobile showcase takes the form of a chocolate-sorting mini-production line, equipped with several advanced technologies to demonstrate hands-on and inspire innovation in manufacturing processes and profitability. Technologies include collaborative robotics, virtual and augmented reality, digital twins, internet of things, model-driven simulation, data analytics and machine learning.
The mobile showcase gives our West Coast businesses the opportunity to engage, interact and imagine what is possible with Industry 4.0 enablers and consider new ways to put them to use. Knowing when and how to incorporate these new technologies into your business model isn’t easy, and the Industry 4.0 Demonstration Network is here to help you adapt.
The showcase will guide you through scenario-based applications:
- Industry 4.0 101 – overview of technology applications
- Maintenance – efficiency and remote support
- Capital Projects – data-driven decision making
- Productivity – targeted optimisation
- Quality – track, isolate and assure
The showcase suits a broad range of people – from those currently working in our diverse manufacturing landscape to our future workforce, all are welcome!
