Discussing Tourism is TIA's series of webinars, virtual coffee catch-ups, member meetings and regional events to help support the industry.
The second phase of the Tourism Industry Transformation Plan is underway with the draft Environment Action Plan currently out for consultation.
The draft plan aims to start a conversation about how tourism can transform into a low carbon emissions industry as well as support the restoration of our natural biodiversity, which is critical to achieving a regenerative tourism model – one that leaves a community and environment better than it was before.
The draft is part of the Tourism Industry Transformation Plan and has been developed by a Leadership Group that includes tourism industry representatives, government, Māori and unions.
You are invited to join TIA for a discussion with Tourism Environment Leadership Group co-chair, Laurissa Cooney, and group members, James Dalglish and Trent Yeo, along with Jennie Kennerley from MBIE. The group will give an overview of the plan and the work which has gone into it, and will also talk about how you can get involved in the consultation process.
Public consultation is open until 19 July and you can provide feedback via the survey here.
The webinar will run for 45 minutes, with extra time for Q&A at the end.
