Immigration New Zealand - Accredited Employer Work Visa

The New Zealand Government has introduced a new immigration policy for employers seeking to employ migrant workers.

Known as the ‘Accredited Employer Work Visa’ (AEWV), the policy is designed as a three-stage process and will impact the way that employers recruit migrant workers with effect from 4 July 2022.

Employers seeking to employ migrant workers will be required to obtain accreditation, undergo a job check for the role(s) that they are seeking to fill, and only then will the migrant worker be able to apply for a work visa to enter New Zealand.

Moreover, the Government have announced that for certain roles and migrants that remain in New Zealand for prescribed periods, pathways to residence will be introduced.

To that end, this session is to help employers better understand the policy and visa process and employers will be able to ask questions directly to the INZ presenters. The session will also include information regarding the settlement and pastoral care of migrant workers and their families. We therefore encourage members to come ready with their questions.
