Rob Campbell joins the Institute of Directors (IoD) in Hokitika to share his perspectives on diversity, sustainability and equality.
The IoD are delighted to have well-known director, Rob Campbell, as their guest. They look forward to Rob sharing his perspectives on topics that he is passionate about including improving leadership diversity, promoting sustainability as a core value, and creating equality in the organisations.
Meet the Speaker
Rob trained as an economist and joined the union movement in the 1970s. Rising to senior leadership roles, he became a member of the Labour Party executive and was subsequently offered a directorship of New Zealand Post, which was the beginning of a new career as a professional director. He is established as one of New Zealand’s leading professional directors, with over 30 years’ experience including chairing SkyCity Entertainment Group Ltd, Summerset, Tourism Holdings Ltd, WEL Networks and Te Whatu Ora Health NZ.
In 2019, Rob was awarded the Companion of the New Zealand Order of Merit (CNZM). He was also awarded the NZ Shareholders Association Beacon Award and the Deloitte NZ Chair of the Year Award in 2017. Rob is currently chair of Ara Ake, the nation’s future energy development centre, chair of NZX listed NZ Rural Land Company, and is the Chancellor of Auckland University of Technology. He is a Chartered Fellow of the Institute of Directors.
