Boards rely on the assurance they get from external auditors on financial statements and other matters. There is considerable focus on this.
There is much less focus on the role that Internal Auditors can play in supporting Boards, including Audit and Risk Committees.
In this webinar, directors will get a renewed appreciation of internal audit (including scope), how it works (including what makes it different to external auditing) and the value it can deliver for corporate boards, Crown entity boards, not for profit boards/committees and executive teams in Government departments.
There will also be a focus on how this important and potentially overlooked resource can best be harnessed by governors to deliver the best value. Board members who Chair of Audit and Risk Committees will share their perspectives on internal audit’s value, how best to have the value delivered by internal auditors, and how to link this work with external auditing.
Bernie is a well-seasoned governance, risk management, internal audit and assurance consultant. She has held risk management roles in a multinational company, lead internal audit at Lloyds Banking Group and headed Operational Risk and Compliance Markets for the ANZ Bank. Other experienced directors with a focus on financial and risk management, including Chairs of Audit and Risk Committees in the corporate and not for profit sectors will provide a board perspective on internal audit.
