Chapter Zero is a global network of directors committed to taking action on climate change and the IoD is hosting the New Zealand chapter. Chapter NZ provide some great resources and regularly holds complimentary online events with some really interesting speakers covering all aspects of climate change.
Energy accounts for 40% of Aotearoa’s total greenhouse gas emissions. This means the energy sector is a central player in the transition away from fossil fuels towards more renewable, sustainable, efficient and low-emission options.
Join Chapter Zero for the September Chapter Zero NZ webinar to discuss the energy landscape in Aotearoa. Climate Change Commissioner Dr James Renwick will explore the current state, and future state of energy in New Zealand, global trends and developments, and climate risks and opportunities for the industry to consider.
In the second half of the event Julia Hoare will facilitate a discussion with experienced directors Mark Verbiest and Dean Carroll to provide a directors perspective to the conversation, discussing climate challenges being faced at the board table, electricity generation and transmission and opportunities for innovation across the sector.
