Development West Coast is delighted to invite West Coast tourism operators to participate in the 2023 West Coast & partners Destination Showcase.

This is the second year this event will be hosted, in addition to West Coast tourism businesses, operators from Christchurch, Kaikoura, Hurunui, Mackenzie, Selwyn and Timaru will also attend.

This is an opportunity to engage with and access 130 of New Zealand’s most valuable Inbound Tour Operator partners and professional conference organisers and corporate event organisers. With pre-registered session times, this event will enable you to conduct training presentations as well as ample time for networking.

The objective is to increase awareness for the West Coast and our tourism offering, our visitor products and experiences as well as increase frontliners’ ability and confidence in selling this destination.

Event Format - Tuesday, 22 August:

  • 11.00am - Set up
  • 12 noon - Exhibitor lunch
  • 12.30pm - Event begins with lunch service ongoing. Session One - pre registered
  • 2.30pm - lunch cleared and afternoon refreshments. Session Two - pre registered
  • 4.30pm - Session Three - pre registered
  • 5.00pm - VIP guests arrive and evening refreshments
  • 7.00pm - Event closure

Objectives and Outcomes:

  • Engage with key staff from New Zealand’s leading inbound tour agencies.
  • Inspire, educate, and inform new staff, existing staff about your products and your experience.
  • Introduce new products, new pricing, changes or improvements to your services and experiences.
  • Connect on a personal level with the people who actively sell and promote your businesses to overseas wholesale and retail partners, from product management and travel advisors to agency owners.
  • Address, correct and challenge any misconceptions, bias or perceptions that agents may have about your product
  • Gain feedback and information regarding your products, competitors and complementary products.
  • Gain valuable insight onto market failures, opportunities, upcoming trends.
  • Increase agent ability and confidence in selling your products.
