Applications are now open for the COVID-19 Resurgence Support Payment.

Resurgence Support Payment

The COVID-19 Resurgence Support Payment (RSP) helps to cover wages and fixed costs for businesses and not-for-profit organisations who have been directly affected when there is an increase to Alert Level 2 or higher for a week or more.

1) You can receive $1,500 per business plus $400 per full-time employee (FTE), up to 50 FTE.
2) The maximum payment is $21,500.
3) If you're a sole trader, you can receive a payment of up to $1,900.

This payment is not a loan, so does not need to be repaid.

Businesses and organisations will be eligible if they experience a 30% drop in revenue or capital-raising ability over a seven-day period from 17 August 2021 and meet other eligibility criteria.

This drop is compared to a typical seven-day period in the six weeks before 17 August 2021.
Seasonal businesses should show a 30% revenue drop compared with a similar week the previous year.

The business or organisation must be considered viable and ongoing, and have been in business for at least 6 months. The business must also have a New Zealand Business Number

Applications will remain open for one month after all of New Zealand returns to Alert Level 1.
Once approved, most applicants will receive their payment in full from IRD within 5 working days.
