“To ensure we have a well-represented view of the West Coast we would like to invite as many Coasters as possible to share their views on economic development for the region,” says Development West Coast (DWC) Chief Executive Heath Milne.

Residents, of all ages and backgrounds, are being asked to fill out an online survey to help contribute to developing a vision for the West Coast economy for beyond 2050 and the short- and medium-term priorities required to get there.

The short survey asks participants to rate the importance of various areas of economic development, and to rank the significance of different economic opportunities and challenges facing the West Coast.

“It is important that we ensure, as West Coasters, we have the resources and support required to meet future challenges and opportunities, enjoy prosperity, and make a sustainable contribution to New Zealand while maintaining our unique lifestyle,” says Mr Milne.

“Your input will play a key role in creating a vision for the economy and long-term future we want to create.

“Public participation in the survey will help to establish key actionable priorities for the West Coast to develop as a prosperous resilient region.”
