About Development West Coast:
Development West Coast (DWC) is the economic development agency and regional tourism organisation for the region.
DWC was set up as a Charitable Trust in 2001 to manage, invest and distribute income from a fund received from the Government. This fund was an adjustment package for the loss of indigenous forestry and the privatisation of much infrastructure on the West Coast in the late 1990s.
DWC is governed by a Deed of Trust to promote sustainable employment opportunities; and generate long term economic benefits for the West Coast.
Role at a Glance:
This is a dynamic and essential role within our team. You’ll take ownership of key administrative and office management tasks, coordinate business events across the region, and provide support to project and governance groups.
There are four key work streams to this role:
- leading and coordinating all aspects of business events, including the Leading Light Business Excellence Awards, annual Tourism Hui and smaller business networking events and development programmes.
- supporting multiple stakeholder groups to ensure their success through provision of governance support, including preparing agendas, drafting minutes and coordinating meetings.
- pro-actively providing efficient and high quality administrative support across the team, including diary management, meeting coordination, reporting and preparing electronic digital marketing (EDM).
- taking ownership of office management, ensuring a tidy, functional, and welcoming environment that runs smoothly and supports the team’s productivity.

Desired Experience/Qualifications:
- 5+ years’ experience in high-level administration and event/project management roles, ideally within a commercial or business-focused environment.
- Relevant qualifications in business management, event management or administration.
- Full NZ Drivers Licence.
