Hikoi WaeWae Guided Walks
Hīkoi Waewae offer authentic cultural or heritage guided walks in Hokitika.

Monday to Sunday from 8:30 am to 5:30 pm.

Hikoi Arahura Tour (90 minute tour)
The tour begins at the southern end of Arahura Bridge with a traditional Māori greeting and prayer.
During the guided walk you will learn the history of the land where Hīkoi Waewae is located, followed by a visit to the sacred Arahura.
Pounamu Hikoi (five hour tour)
The Pounamu Hikoi begins at Hokitika River with a traditional Māori welcome and an ancient prayer.
Learn about the unique history of the land, then travel by van up the sacred Arahura River, the birthplace of Pounamu (greenstone).
