Nature & Wildlife

If getting out in nature is your thing, the West Coast is tough to beat. Whether it's towering mountains, enormous caves, nesting Kotuku, pancake, blue pools, glaciers or seal colonies, it's simply chock-ful of natural wonders and world-beating walking tracks to view them from.

The West Coast is sandwiched between the sea and mountains, including New Zealand’s two highest, Aoraki/Mt Cook and Mt Tasman. In between there are beach and forest walks to suit all ages and abilities.

The majestic mountains of the Southern Alps have made the West Coast the unique destinations it is, carving dramatic glacial valleys to form two of the world’s most unique and accessible glaciers.

Need we say more? It takes a while to do the West Coast justice, but the journey is definitely the best bit.
