Gentle Annie is an ideal location to get off the beaten track and experience the West Coast’s Subtropical Paradise.
Bordered by the Tasman Sea, the mighty Mokihinui River, and Nikau-fringed native bush, our tranquil seaside accommodation provides a comfortable place to relax and a base to explore our natural surroundings.
We have four secluded self-contained holiday houses and a backpacker-style lodge. Each house is private and clean with a comfortable balance between rustic and modern interiors.
Also available is traditional New Zealand camping set in sheltered sites either along the river or beside the sea. Gentle Annie lies near many places of interest. Day trips North will get you to the magnificent Oparara Limestone Arches, the Kahurangi National Park, and the Heaphy Track.
Head inland to the Chasm Creek, Charming Creek and the Old Ghost Road walkways and mountain biking tracks, or South to the Denniston Plateau, Cape Foulwind Seal Colony and the Punakaiki Pancake Rocks. Fish in the River or on the Coast, kayak, walk or bike around the property, and enjoy sensational food and good coffee at the Cowshed Café.
In every season, enjoy good quality time out at Gentle Annie, your home away from home.
