This famil was part of Great Rides of New Zealand Spring campaign featuring the West Coast Wilderness Trail.
Liv and Emma’s journey began with the Scenic Plus service onboard the TranzAlpine train from Christchurch to Greymouth. They were promptly picked up by their Adventure South Guide, who drove them from Greymouth to Ross. From Ross, Liv and Em jumped on their bikes and rode the Wilderness Trail to Hokitika, where they settled into the Hokitika Beachfront Hotel for the night.
The next day, they cycled from Hokitika to Lake Kaniere, enjoying the lush landscapes along the way. They then headed to the West Coast Treetop Walkway where they took in the breathtaking views and experienced the thrill of the zipline. They returned to the Hokitika Beachfront Hotel for another night.
Their adventure continued with a visit to Hokitika Gorge, followed by a bike ride through Lake Kaniere and Milltown, making their way to Kumara. Liv and Em explored the historic Shantytown before spending the night at the Theatre Royal Kumara.
The final leg of the trip involved a bike ride from Kumara back to Greymouth. Upon returning to Greymouth, they visited the Māwhera Pounamu Pathway for an immersive storytelling experience.
