Daisy’s adventure began with a Scenic Plus TranzAlpine train ride from Christchurch to Greymouth, where she and her family took in the breathtaking views of the Southern Alps. Upon arriving in Greymouth, the group picked up bikes from Cycle Journeys and set out to cycle a portion of the West Coast Wilderness Trail, enjoying the fresh air on a beautiful sunny West Coast winter's day.
Daisy and family spent the night at the Copthorne Hotel, where they dined at Jimmy Cook’s Kitchen, indulging in delicious local fare while soaking in the cozy atmosphere. The following day, they explored the Māwhera Pounamu Pathway, delving into the rich cultural history of the West Coast.
Explore West Coast transported the group to Shantytown, where they discovered the charm and history of this unique heritage attraction, and had a go at gold panning. The trip concluded with a return trip to Christchurch on the TranzAlpine.
