“The people on the Coast are probably best in the entire country at supporting their own people”
GINGER ROSE - NATURAL SKINCARE IN GREYMOUTH
Caroline relocated to the West Coast in 2019 and has now established her very own store, Ginger Rose, in the heart of Greymouth.
The basis of Caroline's store is "no nasty skincare," which means that all of the products are made by hand and free from harmful chemicals. Caroline is committed to using only safe and natural ingredients, ensuring that her customers can feel good about what they are putting on their skin. In addition to skincare, Caroline also offers nail services.
Caroline says the biggest benefit of having a business on the Coast is the local's support towards small businesses.
“They want to support local and small and they want something a little bit different.”
Caroline's and her partner's decision to move to the West Coast was driven by a desire for a simpler lifestyle. They wanted to own their own land rather than being burdened by a large mortgage, and the West Coast offered the perfect compromise. With its stunning scenery, friendly people, and outdoor activities like tramping, Caroline and her partner quickly fell in love with the area.
“Who wouldn’t want to be on the West Coast?”
