Tai Poutini Polytechnic and Ara would like to invite you to a Centre for Assessment of Prior Learning (CAPL) information session to explore the potential of translating your experience to a qualification including certificates, diplomas and degrees.
CAPL is an initiative that allows individuals to gain formal qualifications by recognizing their previous learning and work experience. This process can be particularly beneficial for those who have significant industry experience but may not have formal qualifications to reflect their skills and knowledge.

Key benefits of CAPL include:
- Recognition of Existing Skills: CAPL assesses and acknowledges the skills and knowledge you have already acquired through work experience, training, or other learning.
- Time-Efficient: Since CAPL builds on your existing knowledge, it can be a quicker route to gaining qualifications compared to traditional study pathways.
- Cost-Effective: It can be more affordable than enrolling in a full qualification program, as it reduces the need for additional training or education.
- Career Advancement: Gaining formal qualifications can enhance your career opportunities and professional development.
Please share this information with any staff members who might be interested in attending the session and learning more about how they can achieve a qualification through CAPL.
