Tai Poutini Polytechnic (TPP), based on the West Coast, offers students exciting opportunities to get ahead start in their career or take the next step on their learning journey.
TPP offers a wide range of programmes from foundation to degree programmes to help you gain valuable skills to get ahead of the rest.
West Coast Trades Academy
The West Coast Trades Academy is a new, exciting and very different training option for high school students on the West Coast, whether you are interested in hospitality or early childhood education, through to engineering and construction.
Students can now work towards a National Certificate in Trade, while staying at school completing their National Certificate in Education Achievement (NCEA).
The West Coast Trades Academy (WCTA) is a partnership between all of the West Coast high schools and area schools and tertiary institutions. Greymouth High School coordinates the Academy, and Tai Poutini Polytechnic (TPP), Whenua Iti Outdoors (WIO), Nelson Marlborough Institute of Technology (NMIT) and Papa Taiao Earthcare are the Tertiary Partners for WCTA.
Trades academies are part of the Government’s youth initiatives.
