DWC has been actively working with West Coast moss farmers and growers to facilitate the establishment of a formal moss industry group.
Moss industry group
Following legislation coming through both at a local and central government level regarding controls on the use of land, the need for a collective voice in the moss industry was identified that could effectively advocate for it and keep the industry informed on critical industry matters and potential external factors that could negatively impact on it.
The proposed moss industry group will enable representation and advocacy of its members, promotion of good practice in moss resource management across the region, and collaboration of moss farm owners and associated businesses.
