One of the priority projects under Te Whanaketanga – The West Coast Economic Strategy is optimising the region’s food and fibre sector.
“The West Coast is renowned for its natural beauty and unspoiled environment, which is reflected in a diverse array of high-quality, locally sourced food and beverage products,” says Hill.
DWC is embarking on an initiative to develop a West Coast food cluster.
“A food cluster will help businesses collaborate, share resources, and grow sustainably. By working together, we can strengthen the sector, improve productivity, and enhance the region’s economic resilience.”
As part of this initiative, DWC is inviting food and beverage businesses to join a West Coast delegation to the Christchurch Food Show (4–6 April).
“This is a fantastic opportunity to showcase our region’s unique food stories and sustainable business practices. If you're keen to be involved, get in touch.”
Businesses interested in joining the food cluster or participating in the Christchurch Food Show can contact Fiona at fiona@dwc.org.nz.
