Driftwood and Sands Sculpture Festival
Held in January each year on the Hokitika Beach, this festival highlights the region's Untamed Natural Wilderness. The Hokitika Beach is known for its ruggedness and copious amount of driftwood, and in 2002 local artist Donald Buglass saw this as a creative opportunity. From there the sculpture competition began, each year incredible natural sculptures are made from materials found on the beach. Held from 22-26 January 2025, this is sure to impress!
All you need to bring is some imagination.
