Breakers Boutique Accommodation

Breakers Boutique Accommodation Update

Jan and Stephen continue to work and improve their offerings to ensure their guests have the best possible experience while staying at Breakers. Most recently has been a name change for all the guest rooms to more reflect the natural surroundings. The names have been chosen from native plants found amongst Breakers 2 acres of native bush and landscaped gardens. The descriptions of Koromiko, Kowhai, Nikau and Koru include the previous Maori usage of these plants to help incorporate more Maori culture into Breakers offerings and strengthen Jan’s Maori heritage for their guests.

The downstairs guest lounge and dining area has been completed repainted – moving away from the neutral tones and thrown in a splash of colour called paradise – reflecting Breakers beachfront location and aptly named given Breakers Boutique Accommodation slogan of “come share our wee slice of paradise”. All interior doors have been replaced, together with new furniture, giving the entire house a fresh, modern look.

Famils throughout June and July were the first to see the changes to the guest lounge and dining area and these changes were met with resounding approval. Two occasional chairs are currently away being reupholstered.

A makeover has almost been completed for Kowhai room ready to accommodate the upcoming season bookings. Kowhai is the large room upstairs in the main house with uninterrupted sea views including from the ensuite bathroom – the loo with the view.

The rooms have been completely repainted with a new feature wall in a calming Siam green. The light fittings have all been replaced. Utilising Stephen’s photography, beautiful new prints have been hung on the walls to help further showcase the beauty that is the West Coast.

The ensuite bathroom has been painted in the same calming green colour with white trims on the window and door sills, architraves and skirtings. A new shower including shower fittings has been installed. All new bathroom accessories are being updated including towel rails and toilet roll holder. A new mirror, shower door and vanity light will complete the bathroom project.

The change in colour palette for the Kowhai room was a little nerve racking for Jan and Stephen with the move away from the neutral tones but a recent famil of 9 inbound tour operators were the first to see the changes for the Kowhai room and again these changes were met with resounding approval.

Next season will be the turn of the annex rooms – Nikau and Koru and now that we are more confident with the colour changes we will add some bolder colours to the feature walls. In the meantime we have refreshed the rooms with new bed covers, bedside lamps and prints for the walls.

To top it all off, all exterior of buildings have been completely repainted, new locally made outdoor furniture and privacy screens for the annex rooms. Roof and gutters have been completely replaced. The entrance has been reworked ensuring an immediate welcome and drawing guests in to the sea views.

Wishing everyone every success for the upcoming summer season. We look forward to welcoming your clients – our guests, often becoming our friends, to our wee slice of paradise that is Breakers Boutique Accommodation.
