Arthur's Pass National Park is a stunning wilderness area in New Zealand’s Southern Alps, located along the scenic drive between the West Coast and Christchurch. Known for its breathtaking mountain scenery and diverse ecosystems, the park features dramatic peaks, deep gorges, and lush rainforests. The drier eastern side is predominantly Mountain Beech, while the western side is dominated by thick rainforest.

Be sure to stop at Arthur's Pass Village, where you can take family-friendly short walks to picturesque waterfalls and keep an eye out for the cheeky kea birds, known for their playful antics. The world-famous TranzAlpine train also stops here.
