Sva's, Fox River

Named after it's original owner, Sva's is simple, rustic and quintessentially 'West Coast'. It's the perfect place to take time out, rest and soak up the breathtaking coastal scenery of this wonderfully wild part of New Zealand.

The hut has been designed to accentuate indoor-outdoor living with the enclosed hut containing the bed and a small sitting area - flowing to a large covered deck area split into a kitchen and open-air bathroom.

Staying here is like retreating to your own little isolated world. Surrounded by bush you'll be joined by a plethora of wide of native birds including weka, tui, tomtit, kereru, and fantails. Breathe in the invigorating ocean air, watch the seabirds soar and dive over the ocean and the technicolour skies as the sun goes down in the evening... At night, be lulled to a deep and restful sleep with the constant, rhythmic roar of the ocean waves... 

Eating & Drinking

Sva's is self-catering. Just bring your own food and drink, and cook meals using the BBQ and facilities provided in your covered, outdoor kitchen. You'll find all the cutlery, crockery, pots and pans that you'll need.

If you want a break from cooking at any stage, Punakaiki is just a 12-minute drive away and Charleston is approximately 8 minutes away. Both have some (limited) cafes and restaurants to choose from.

Supermarkets for food shopping can be found in either Westport (40-minute drive) or Greymouth (60-minute drive), so best to stock up before you arrive!
