Explore this historic gold mining settlement with spectacular views of Mt Tasman, Mt Cook & FJ Glacier from the beach & Trig Track walk, Okarito Lagoon - the biggest natural wetland in the southern hemisphere & home to over 78 species of native birds including Kotuku (white heron), bar-tailed godwits, oyster catchers, pied stilts, fern birds, kakariki, bush robins, royal spoonbills & terns. This area is also home to the Okarito forest gecko, hectors dolphins, kea, ruru, bats, fur seals & blue penguins. Join us on a real nature tour of our area in Aotearoa NZ.
