WestREAP

Operating for 37 years, WestREAP was first established in 1981, becoming incorporated in 1991. WestREAP exists to fill gaps in education for people of all ages living in rural and isolated areas of the West Coast including Westland, South Westland, Grey districts and east to Otira.

WestREAP’s aim is to facilitate equitable access to education by connecting learners with initiatives across the Early Childhood, Schools, Youth and Adult and Community Education sectors.

WestREAP’s work is underpinned by a community led development model helping people empower their lives through knowledge and self-development. WestREAP focuses on taking ‘learning to the learner’ to maximise its reach throughout the region.

Our mission and strategic plan’s 20-year focus is ‘A connected system of learning in a network of vibrant communities across the West Coast.’

REAP House is based in Hokitika with a recently opened satellite office and learning hub in Greymouth.

WestREAP were finalists in the Westland Milk Products Not for Profit category at the 2018 Development West Coast Leading Light Awards. WestREAP is an organisation doing a lot of fantastic work here on the Coast. #WestCoastBusinessStories
