Franz Josef Wilderness Tours operate quality, safety audited tours on Lake Mapourika only minutes from the Franz Josef Glacier township. Exploring the calm mirror like waters with a local tour guide will provide unique insight into the region, and free photographs tailored for each group. Kayak tours, scenic cruises or Fishing Charters are available. Optional guided walks on an exclusively accessed rainforest track through the Rowi Kiwi sanctuary can be added onto any experience.

Kayak Tours: Groups of 16-20 pax can be run up to 4x daily <80 pax per/day (summer schedule) Ratio of guide to clients on kayak tours: 1:8
We recommend a maximum of 16 per group and tours can be run at 3-hour intervals throughout the day. If required, we can stagger departure by ½ hour for particularly large groups.
Scenic Cruises & Fishing: Group up to 12 passengers can be run up to 5x daily (summer schedule) Ratio of guide to clients on scenic cruises / fishing: 1:12
All necessary equipment provided, including free photos with each tour. Time to allow for key experiences: 2-3 hours
