Key outtake from the report indicates :
- The appetite for domestic holidays remains high however, flat / consistent vs. growing which could be attributed to uncertainty around when lockdown restrictions will be lifted heading into summer (i.e., this time period a year ago there was an increase): 69% of New Zealanders are planning to take a holiday within New Zealand in the next 12 months.
- The key factors driving the choice of holiday location remain unchanged: New Zealanders continue to look for opportunities to relax, explore the natural beauty of New Zealand and visit places they have not been to before (Short breaks remain the most common duration)
