Shane Boocock from Let's Travel Magazine visited the West Coast as part of a Top of the South famil.
Shane’s journey began with a flight into Christchurch, followed by a scenic drive across to the West Coast. He stopped for a meal at the Woodstock Hotel in Hokitika before settling in for the night at the Hokitika Firestation Boutique Accommodation. The next day brought a change of plans thanks to some classic West Coast rain, but that didn’t stop Shane from making the most of it. He explored the charming town of Hokitika, took part in a carving workshop at Bonz n Stonz, and enjoyed lunch with a tasting at Monteith's Brewery. His adventures continued with The Paparoa Experience and a visit to the Pancake Rocks & Blowholes walk, capped off with dinner at the Punakaiki Rocks Hotel & Garden Bar. That night, he stayed at Treescapes Punakaiki. On day three, Shane kicked things off with breakfast at the Pancake Rocks Café before hitting the road once more, this time bound for the Nelson Tasman region.
Shane will write a 10-page spread on his experience in the Top of the South to be published in Let's Travel Magazine later on in the year.
Top of the South (TOTS) is a partnership between 5 regions; West Coast, Hurunui, Nelson Tasman, Marlborough and Kaikoura. Shane spent two days in each region during his famil.
