Brad Olsen, Chief Executive and Principal Economist at Infometrics, shared insights on the economic challenges New Zealand is currently facing – including global uncertainty, high living costs, and inflation pressures – but pointed out that the West Coast is outperforming many other regions on key economic indicators.
He said the Coast’s strength in dairy, mining and tourism is helping it weather the storm better than much of the country.
Development West Coast Economic Development Manager, Fiona Hill, said it’s always great to host Brad on the Coast.
“Brad has a real gift for breaking down complex economic issues in a way that’s easy to follow and highly relevant to local business owners,” she said. “It was a really valuable and engaging session.”
