Drive southwest from Weld Street and turn left at Sale Street.
Turn right at the 1st cross street onto Stafford St and continue onto Kaniere Rd.
Turn left onto Lake Kaniere Rd. Drive: 6 mins inland towards the bush
A great spot to play on the swings, go for a swim, putting in the jetboat and having a picnic. Just 3 mins along Dorothy Falls Road, (1.9 km from Lake Kaniere), stop and walk in to see Dorothy Falls.

Turn left to stay on Whitcombe Valley Rd, Whitcombe Valley Rd turns right and becomes Nielson Rd, turn left onto Johnston Rd, Johnston Rd turns right and becomes Kaniere-Kowhitirangi Rd, turn right to stay on Kaniere-Kowhitirangi Rd, continue onto Kaniere Rd, turn left onto Woodstock-Rimu Rd until the Hokitika Gorge carpark.
The tranquil teal coloured waters that can be viewed from above the flowing water via a swing bridge. Keep walking long the easy track and the waterfall can be viewed from the bridge, within a few seconds walk through the bush you will be at the edge of the waterfalls pool of water.

Make your way to the famous turquoise blue waters of the Hokitika Gorge. Walk among the top of the trees and great views overlooking your next stop Lake Mahinapua. Drive: From Whitcombe Valley Road follow Kaniere Kowhitirangi Road for 26.3 kms, and turn left onto Woodstock-Rimu Road.

Head northeast on State Highway 6 toward Adair Rd, at the roundabout, take the 1st exit onto Weld St, at the roundabout, take the 1st exit onto Sewell St, turn right onto Gibson Quay, slight right to stay on Gibson Quay.

Day 2: Sunset Point Hokitika
2 mins, 1.1 km
Views of the untamed Hokitika beach, strewn with driftwood and a great spot to tuck into some fish and chips. As nature does its thing it is eroding at this area please note that there may be high waves so please take care.
Head northeast on Gibson Quay toward Beach St, turn left onto Beach St, turn left to stay on Beach St, turn left into carpark area.
