The Union Hotel is more than your local pub, more than a bar, accommodation provider and family restaurant.
About
The Union Hotel in Greymouth is one of New Zealand’s true-to-the-core classic pubs, complimented with the restaurant, Raceway Carvery, serving the home-cooked meals and dishes we all know. There’s even a free soup with main meals.
Whether you are cheering to a live match on the big screens, meeting up with friends for a pint or two, maybe catching a show in the theatre or conference room, the laughter and banter of the locals, “real” hospitality of the staff, plus the warm fire and classic home lounge style, you will feel welcomed.
With simplicity and comfort .. The only problem is, it’s difficult to leave!

Know this, the restaurant ain't modern, it ain't "trendy." But what is is an old school wham bam thank you Ma'am Carvery. Great food, great old school options eg meals with veges or salad and fries, Get in early to get your roasts, but plenty of other options including West Coast Turbot and the steaks are great. Inexpensive , good options for the kids and the complimentary vege soup with the mains is a must. No packet gravy and no packet soup. Old school.
